Whatever happened to Robert Zemeckis. Zemeckis previously produced classics such as Forrest Gump, Back to the Future Trilogy, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Polar Express. and many other great works I grew up with.
The camera concept stays in one place and the storytelling feels ambitious and creative
But since The Walk, his work has been underwhelming and underwhelming to say the least. This movie has a really ambitious and intriguing concept, but unfortunately, despite some solid and interesting moments, Zemeckis fails to properly experiment with the concept and it ends up boring and underwhelming. Subjects that are interesting and potentially innovative to explore, but Zemeckis' The direction and lack of emotional depth in the film ruins what could have been a good film.

Filled with bloated storylines, unbalanced structure and underdeveloped characters, the emotional weight and engagement becomes more of a snooze fest. Zemeckis seems to have seen The Tree of Life, but unfortunately he took what made The Tree of Life great and made this one more mediocre and boring. The production design and camera work are really good, and the use of CGI for face swaps is pretty fluid with color and movement.
Robert Zemeckis will always be one of my favorite directors
All the performances are good because it’s nice to see Tom Hanks and Robin Wright together again because they have good chemistry and scenes together. But it didn’t work because it doesn’t really do it justice. I grew up as a kid, but unfortunately his best years are long behind him.
